A Momentous Back-To-School Year

Little Dudes back-to-school date is fast approaching, it is on September 7th to be exact! My little  big boy is entering the 1st grade. I know for a fact that I am more nervous, and excited than he is. I really don't think he realizes what a momentous year this is going to be for him. You see, last year during kindergarten, Little Dude only went to school for for 3 hours a day. This year is going to be the real deal! He will be going to school for a full day, eating in the cafeteria, playing on the "big kids" playground, using the library, and the computer lab! Can you see why this is going to be huge for him? Did I mention field trip's? I have been trying to prepare him for all of these changes the best that I can, but I know it will take some time for him to get used to being the big man on campus! Or maybe it's just me that will need some time adjusting. I just can't imagine the same little boy that needed mommy so much being so independent at school. Where in the world does the time go? What has it done with my little boy, and who is this first grader standing beside me?

To help us both ease into the transition of a full day of school, I have come up with an idea to remind him what a big boy he is, and how much I love him! Have you ever heard of Lunch Box Notes? If you haven't, don't be embarrassed, I hadn't either until I saw them online! I plan on sticking a special note in his lunch box everyday. I think they are fantastic idea, and I can't wait to make them a back-to-school tradition in our home!

I suggest you go take a look at them for yourself! You can find them at Tiny Prints!
They offer a huge array of back-to-school items!
