One Little Mom: Get a head start with Kmart's "Big Layaway Giveaway"!

I am a planner...a really really BIG planer! When it comes time to start shopping for my holiday gifts I have list uon list of items my kids have wished for all year long! The problem is that most of the time these items are what I call *hot ticket toys*. Meaning, they are extremely popular and they have a very high risk of selling out!

Last year I was really proud of myself as I thought I had come up with the ultimate plan to get everything on my kiddos wishlist...but my plan didn't turn out the way I thought. Bummer. My plan was to hit the stores (list in hand) and put everything available at that time on layaway so I could guarentee I would have it in time for the Holidays. So, you wanna know how my plan failed exactly? Insert a deposit on a large amount of toys and video games plus monthly payments that I felt were far too high. Seriously, some of the layaway programs I looked into were like paying a monthly credit card payment. I might as well have just purchased them and stashed them away after seeing what it costs to keep something in layaway.

Well, this year I have a new plan! I am taking my list straght to Kmart for free layaway! You can lock into the low prices on items they have in stock today with no service fee! I have already been browsing around their website for holiday gifts that match up with the items my kids have already wished for-lucky me there are a ton! Haha! They offer an 8 week and a 12 week program with very low deposits and easy payment options.

As of right now I have my eye on two different Power Wheel vehicle's for Little Dude and Little Diva, as well as a few video games! That would set me back around $650-$700 in a lump sum if I picked them up today, but if I put them on layaway at Kmart I would pay less than $100 a week. Very manageable.
