With the 4th of July only days away Little Dude & Little Diva have started asking to go buy fireworks and sparklers. Here's the problem...I am not the biggest fan of them. I know they can be safe if done correctly by an adult and they can be beautiful to watch but they down right scare me. I have never been hurt or seen anyone hurt by them but whenever I am around them I am so worried that I can't enjoy them. Not to mention the fact that I can't sleep the entire night in fear that somehow my home will catch fire because someone around me will be careless with them. This year I am planning on taking the kiddos to the local fairgrounds to watch their firework show from a distance. What is your take on fireworks? Do you do them at home? Please tell me I am not the only super paranoid mom out there...

You're not the only one! Our county has banned home fireworks for just the reasons you've mentioned. For every responsible person out there, there are 25 crazies just waiting to burn down the neighborhood! I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old...we may just watch on TV!
